My name is Mrs. Clubb and I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade science and social studies and I coach robotics . I value the highest standards of education in the fields of science and social studies, ensuring that students receive top-tier academic instruction. I believe in
embracing creativity, mixing forward thinking and traditional approaches to teaching. I continuously seek new ways to inspire students and enhance their learning experience. Our 6th grade science students learn about Earth science which teaches students a number of fundamental concepts in geology, oceanography, meteorology and astronomy. 7th grade science students learn about biology which teaches students about cells, heredity, the five kingdoms, human body systems and ecology. 8th grade science students delve into physical science which teaches them motion, energy, the nature of matter and atoms, how chemicals combine, and potential and kinetic energy. 6th grade social studies students learn about the five themes of geography and use maps to gather information about locations, landforms and other geographical features. This includes learning most of the countries on Earth. 7th grade social studies students dive into world history and learn about the work of historians and investigate key historical periods from pre-historic times through the 1500s. 8th grade social studies continues our history into America. We start with the colonial period in America and covers the American Revolution, the founding of the United States, the writing of the Constitution, the western expansion, the conflict with Native Americans, and the Civil War. Our robotics program is an extracurricular program utilizing the Spike Prime technology which combines colorful LEGO building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch SPIKE prime. This continuously engages students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems regardless of their learning level. Our 2023-2024 robotics students earned platinum and a judges award nomination at this year’s competition.
